It provides information on the strategic focus of the agency, issues and trends that will impact on its activities and future directions for the Department. This report highlights the numerous achievements in the areas of good governance for local government and effective leadership for regional communities. Annual Reports - Local Government Advisory Board LGAB Annual Report 2007/2008 The Local Government Advisory Board's Annual Report focuses on the activities of the Board during 2007/2008. The Board commenced its Inquiry into Local Government Service Delivery to Indigenous communities. Further, the Board finalised its Inquiry into the Amalgamation of the Shire of Broomehill and the Shire of Tambellup, and supported the formation of a new local government to be named Shire of Broomehill-Tambellup. The Board finalised its inquiry into the 2 proposals regarding a district boundary change between the City of Nedlands and City of Subiaco, where it was recommended to the Minister for Local Government that both proposals be rejected as there was insufficient justification to support either proposal. The Board also assessed four minor district boundary changes and one ward and representation review. LGAB Annual Report 2006/2007 The Local Government Advisory Board’s annual report focuses on the activities of the Board during the 2006/2007 financial year. Structural reform of local government continues to gather momentum with the Board recommending the amalgamation of the Shire and Town of Northam and the City of Geraldton with the Shire of Greenough. The Board is confident that the efforts of these local governments in addressing structural reform will encourage other local governments to pursue structural reform initiatives. LGAB Annual Report 2006 The 2005 / 06 Local Government Advisory Board report focuses on review of ward boundaries and representation throughout the year, in preparation for the 2007 local government elections. In all, the Board assessed eighteen reports of reviews of ward boundaries and representation.. LGAB Annual Report 2005 The 2005 Local Government Advisory Board report focuses on ward boundaries. Representation remained a major focus for the Board throughout the last year, in preparation for the May 2005 local government elections. In all, thirty-two reports of reviews of ward boundaries and representations were assessed during this reporting period. Annual Reports - Local Government Grants Commission LGGC Annual Report 2006 The 2005 / 06 Annual Report of the Western Australian Local Government Grants Commission includes the General Purpose and Local Roads grants allocations for the year in review. Annual Reports - Local Government Standards Panel Annual Report 2007 The inaugural 2007 / 08 Annual Report of the Local Government Standards Panel provides an overview of the functions and composition of the Standards Panel. Also included is a summary of the matters dealt with since the Panel was formed in late 2007. |
